10,000 Maharashtra farmers' paddy walk

Maharashtra farmers who have been worried about the loss of crop loan and crops have reached the Azad plain in Mumbai. More than 10,000 farmers and tribals arrived in Mumbai yesterday on a pedestal from Thane. Due to the famine, farmers have been forced to take care of their livelihoods, which they promised last year. Swaminathan Committee recommends that 50 percent of the minimum support price for crops and land rights for tribals are asked.

The farmers undertook this protest rally under the Lok Sankarach Morcha. Magsaysay Award winner Rajendra Singh, who is known as Water Man of India, also participated in the rally. A group of about 30 delegates will discuss with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on their issues. Farmers warned yesterday that Azad will remain in the ground if farmers' demands are not resolved. Aam Aadmi Party leaders and several NGOs from Mumbai are also participating in the rally in support of farmers. State Minister for Water Resources Girish Mahajan has already spoken with farmers. All ministers and officials will attend the meeting with the chief minister and ensure that the problems are resolved.
