Tech giant Apple has recently launched its iPhone 11 smartphones at its Foxconn plant in Tamil Nadu. It is the fifth iPhone model to be made in India. ‘IPhone 11 in 2020, iPhone 7 in 2019 .. XR, iPhone 6S in 2018, iPhone SE in 2017.
This is a testament to the way the Narendra Modi government has developed the mobile phone manufacturing system domestically, ”Union Telecom and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad tweeted on microblogging site Twitter. Foxconn has been assembling the iPhone 11 for the past few months at its Sriperumbudur plant in Tamil Nadu, which has been available in the market since last month, sources said. Foxconn is also making Apple XR phones, while Wistron is making iPhone 7 smartphones.
